More than support: This is Freelance Mum Southampton

Women networking in Southampton

Community and supporting each other is at the heart of Freelance Mum. And that’s right where it should be. But our members don’t stick with us just because of that.

Freelance Mums stay Freelance Mums because the longer they’re with us, the more their businesses grow and flourish. We got the lowdown from some awesome FM women who network in Southampton. Here’s what Female Financial Mentor, Hannah Gardener had to say:

When did you join Freelance Mum and start going to the Southampton Hub

“I joined the Southampton Hub a year ago. I was invited into the network to help me work through the journey of making it on my own and juggling home life. I haven’t looked back!”

What were your expectations for being a Freelance Mum member?

“I was set up from the outset that this was a support-based group helping with each other’s journeys rather than hard and fast business-to-business sales. And it absolutely is that. But even in my first year, I’ve got so much more out of it. My business has grown beyond what I’d hoped, in quite a short space of time.”

Would you say networking with Freelance Mum has exceeded your expectations?

“I really didn’t expect to get so much work from it—especially as that wasn’t why I joined. I’ve tried other networking groups that sell themselves as having more of a ‘business mindset’, which have been more expensive and not benefitted my business nearly as much as Freelance Mum.”

For you, what’s the best thing about Freelance Mum?

“I love being a Freelance Mum. Within my first year, I have made many new relationships, had support with every hurdle I have faced and been given excellent business opportunities and leads. All this for the small competitive fee of £25 p/m.”

What’s your advice to other women considering getting involved in networking groups?

“As Faye always says, ‘You get back what you put in’. With Freelance Mum, it’s easy to show up and talk to other FMs because it’s such a relaxed and welcoming environment. So, I would say take the plunge and give it a go.  You’ll get more out of it than you think!

“I will forever be thankful to Faye for creating such a powerful networking concept to help me on my freelance journey.”
