Tickets are sold separately and not included in the membership.

For 30 days, you get:

We know your time (and money) is precious, so we don’t charge for your first 30 days.

Just jump into the FM community, share your awesome wisdom and knowledge, and enjoy mutual support from like-minded people.

Your 30-day trial begins the day after you’ve booked your first netwalk.

How much does membership costs?

If you want to try out Freelance Mum, you can attend for 30 days at no charge. Book your 30-day trial now.

When you decide to join, (and we think it will be when rather than if!) there are two options:

  1. A monthly direct debit of £25 per month (taken on the 1st of each month) with a one-off £30 joining fee
  2. An annual payment of £250 (two months free) with a one-off £30 joining fee.

Why is there a £30 joining fee?

This covers our time and admin costs to get you fully signed up and welcomed to the Freelance

Can I freeze my membership?

Yes, if life is getting tricky, don’t struggle. Just get in touch and let’s talk

Can I cancel my membership at any time?

Yes, of course. If life changes and FM no longer fits, please get in touch and we will cancel your membership.

I don’t live in the UK. Can I join?

Yes. You can enjoy access to The Mothership and our online coffee mornings from anywhere in the world.

My business is just a germ of an idea, not even a start-up. Can I join?

Yes. This is a place where ideas and people flourish. We encourage people at all stages of their business to come along—it’s a great place to exchange ideas and grow.

I don’t have kids. Can I join?

If you’re not a parent, we’d ask that you only come to the special open events that are arranged on occasions throughout the year.

I’m a freelance dad.  Can I join?

By the nature of Freelance Mum, we are all about supporting mums in business. That said, if you’re freelance parent or caregiver who’s struggling with the juggle, let us know.

What is a Freelance Mum host?

Freelance Mum Hubs are hosted by local leaders, and we call them our Freelance Mum hosts. They lead the netwalks and help grow the Freelance Mum community in their area.

Where can I find the online Coffee Morning Zoom link?

Head over to The Mothership on Facebook and you’ll find the Zoom link. It’s the same link every week, so it can be helpful to save it.

What is The Mothership?

The Mothership is our online Facebook community. Here you can chat, connect, and get all the latest updates, thoughts, and announcements from Freelance Mum.

Can I bring my children to FM events?

Yes. Children of any age or stage are welcome at all Freelance Mum meetups.

Can I come without my children?

Absolutely. You are more than welcome to come without your children.

Is there childcare at FM netwalks and other events?

The netwalks and other in-person events are child-friendly, but children are your responsibility on the day.

Can I bring my dog to netwalks?

Please check with your local hub. Due to the mix of location, some hubs are dog-friendly. If you’re not sure, just drop us a line. Guide, hearing and therapy dogs are always welcome.

Where are the netwalks and hubs?

There are monthly netwalks in Bristol, Somerset, North Somerset, Southampton, Bath and South Devon. If there’s not a hub in an area near you and you’d like to host one, just get in touch

Can I go to any/more than one hub or netwalk?

Yes! You can visit as many hubs as you like (in fact, we encourage it) as we’re all part of one amazing network.

Can I join more than one WhatsApp Group?

Yes! Much like the hubs, you can belong to as many WhatsApp groups as you like, as this will help with getting to netwalks. Don’t worry, we know how maddening lots of notifications on your phone can be, so they’re not for ‘chat’ (that stays in The Mothership). Hub WhatsApp groups are just for reminders or logistics.

Will I have to do a 60-second pitch or similar?

No. Freelance Mum networking is relaxed, informal and not ‘salesy’. We want you to feel at ease, be yourself and take time to make genuine connections.

Do you still walk if it rains?

Absolutely, we aim to meet and netwalk whatever the weather. That said, if there is a severe weather warning in place, activities may be adjusted accordingly to keep everyone safe.

Can I get a ticket/book my space on the day?

We strongly advise booking your space in advance so that we know numbers. It also helps us know who to look out for and when we’re good to set off.

What if I’m running late to a netwalk?

Don’t worry, life happens—we get it! Just let your Freelance Mum host know via the hub WhatsApp group if you’re running late. You’ll get sent a link to the WhatsApp Group when you book your ticket to a netwalk.

Where can I park when I go to a netwalk?

We’ve chosen netwalk locations with parking, cafes, and toilets nearby. Check out your local hub page for more details.

How long and what sort of pace are the netwalks?

The netwalks are at a gentle pace to match the slowest member. There is always a clearly marked leader and backstop, so no one can get lost. Toddler pace, scooters, and buggies are all in the mix.

What should I wear?

Freelance Mum is all about being comfortable being yourself, so there are no rules or expectations about what to wear. Feel free to dress down or dress up—just come as you are. For netwalks, be mindful of the weather!

I can’t make all of the meeting—is it still ok to attend?

This can be tricky, as the netwalk needs to set off as a group. Get in touch with the Freelance Mum host for your hub via the WhatsApp Group and see if it’s possible.

Do Freelance Mum events run all year round?

Freelance Mum doesn’t officially meet in person in August, although some hubs organise a more relaxed picnic. The Freelance Mum online coffee morning continues all year, including in school holidays. Plus, there is plenty of support and advice in The Mothership whenever you need it.

I’ve got more questions. Can I email you?

Yes—drop us a message at: [email protected]
