How much does it cost? If you’re new and you want to try out Freelance Mum, you can attend for one month absolutely free. Make sure you select the FM taster ticket option.That includes both Freelance Mum at The Farm and Freelance Mum at St Paul’s during that month. You’ll also get a month’s access to The Mothership, our buzzing Facebook community. So far, so budget friendly!
How much is membership? When you decide to join up (and we think it will be when rather than if!) there is just one simple monthly payment of £15 per month which covers everything: monthly meetings at both the Farm and St Paul’s plus access to The Mothership. We’ll get you set up on Go Cardless and the rest is simple. Once you’ve become a member, you need the Free FM Member Ticket option.
When and where are the networking events? Freelance Mum networking events run twice a month in Bristol (one at Windmill Hill City Farm and one at St Paul’s Church) throughout the year with breaks in August and December:
- Please note Freelance Mum doesn’t meet in August, but there is still plenty of support and advice throughout the month, in our online community The Mothership.
- Freelance Mum runs The Evening Sessions in December, in lieu of our regular meetings. There will be a small ticket price of £10 for this meeting, to cover food & drink.
Is there childcare offered? We hope your children enjoy the toys and activities provided for them but please remember that they remain your responsibility throughout the Freelance Mum meeting.
Can I get a ticket on the door? We have a limited number of places at each meeting, so booking in advance is a good idea.
I don’t have my children that day – can I still come? You are more than welcome to come without your kids if a meeting falls on a day when you already have childcare in place.
I don’t have children, can I still come? If you’re not a parent, we’d ask that you only come to the special open events that are arrange on occasion throughout the year. Regular meetings are for mums and dads only!
My children are now at school, can I still come? If your children and older and now at school, you are more than welcome to come – if you still feel you identify with this bonkers phase, please come, we welcome extra hands!
Parking: For both venues there’s parking in the near by Asda car park, where you can park for FREE for 2.5 hours. At St Paul’s Church, there is also meter parking, for 3 hours. And at Windmill Hill City Farm, there is the NCP Carpark, Dalby Ave.
How long is the walk/what pace is it? The walk is a gentle 30 minutes, we walk at the pace of the slowest walker. There is always a clearly marked leader & backstop, so no one can get lost. Toddler pace/tantrums/scooters/buggys are all made easy.
I’m a ‘freelance dad’ – can I come? Yes – while these events are aimed at mums in business, if this is something as a Dad you identify with too, we’d love to have you!
I can’t make all of the meeting – is it still ok to attend? Of course, just let us know when you can join, we’d love to have you.
My business is just a germ of an idea, not even a start up – can I come? Yes – this is a place where ideas and people flourish. We encourage people at all stages of their business to come – it’s a great place to exchange ideas and grow.
Can I cancel my membership? Yes, of course – if life changes and FM no longer fits, please get in touch and we will cancel your membership.
How do I cancel? Just get in touch and we’ll start the cancellation process.
Can I freeze my membership? No, we’re sorry, but monthly payment includes access to The Mothership, regardless of how many meetings you can attend.
