5 reasons to love our North Somerset women’s business networking group
If you’re new to networking, or you’re an established Freelance Mum member looking to visit a different hub, our women’s networking group in North Somerset is a great place to start. Here’s why:
- Led by freelance mums, for freelance mums
All Freelance Mum Hubs and netwalks are led by women who get the juggle of being a mum and running a business. We call them our Freelance Mum Fairies—they will welcome regular FMs and those on their 30-day trial with a smile and all the info you need. Look out for the rainbow umbrella!
The North Somerset netwalk is led by Freelance Mum Fairies, Claire Spicer and Amy Sykes. We’ll make sure you can contact them via the hub WhatsApp group.

2. Connections in Clevedon, Bristol and beyond
All our hubs are little pockets of the Freelance Mum community, where members can build deeper connections with like-minded people who live locally. But we also choose the locations of our hubs so they’re easily accessible to members who come from surrounding towns and villages, to ensure you get the best out of our growing network.
The North Somerset Hubattracts members from Clevedon, Bristol, Weston, Portishead and beyond. You’ll also be able to join our whole-network events including the weekly Freelance Mum Online Coffee Mornings, and access The Mothership, our buzzing Facebook community.
3. Meaningful friendships that last
Building trust and real friendships through regular networking lays the foundations for lasting relationships that will see you and your business through to stability and growth.
Our North Somerset Hub has a balanced mix of established business owners who know their stuff and new FMs who’ve recently joined us. Wherever you’re at on your freelance journey, at the North Somerset Hub you’re guaranteed a warm welcome. Try us out we’d love to meet you!
4. It’s always sunny in Clevedon! (Well, kind of…)
One of the best things about a netwalk with the North Somerset Hub is that you get to soak up a spectacular view and plenty of sea air—there’s just something very special about a walk along the seafront.
Sometimes we don sunglasses and sit outside after our walk, other times it’s a case of warming up in the pub with a hot chocolate! Whatever the weather, Clevedon is a beautiful place to network (just be prepared to be at one with the elements!)
There is also a play park for little ones to burn off some energy before or after the walk. Clevedon is easy to access from junction 20 of the M5 and there is plenty of parking.

5. And if you happen to love a cold dip…
…You’ve found the ideal place to network!
We can’t talk about loving networking in Clevedon without mentioning cold water swimming. It’s not for everyone, and there’s no pressure to do it, but it’s worth knowing that during the warmer months, some of the Clevedon netwalkers enjoy a sociable swim in the marine lake after their walk. Some of our more committed cold-water types swim all year round—if you like the sound of them, there’s an opportunity for your next 1:1!
The North Somerset Hub meet for its netwalk on the first Thursday of the month at Clevedon seafront.
Freelance Mum is about more than finding new business. It’s a safe space to give and get support, offload, feel a sense of belonging and raise each other up.
