For the love of Bristol! Our in-person networking events for mums

Juggling being a freelancer and a mum can be a lonely business. While online networking certainly has its place (we do that, too) the value of in-person networking in building meaningful connections, supporting wellbeing and springboarding your business is, frankly, massive!

Bristol is the home of Freelance Mum, and it was here that Faye, on a mission to provide face-to-face connection and support for Bristol mums in business, launched the first-ever Freelance Mum netwalk. Since then, our Bristol Hubs have hosted dozens of Freelance Mum netwalks and other in-person networking events for mums.

The joy of being active and getting fresh air

To build genuine, lasting connections, you need to be able to relax and be yourself. That’s why we decided to take the ‘work’ out of networking and lead the way for freelance mums to make connections while also enjoying the benefits of fresh air and being active—we are big believers in tapping into nature to spark joy and energy.

Our signature in-person netwalks are a chance to talk, support, and connect with other mums in business, outside in the fresh air, without the confines of a conference room or the barrier of a screen.

And of course, Bristol has so many fantastic locations to choose from!

We’ve got Bristol covered

Our Bristol Hubs mean that we’ve got Bristol covered—we’ve chosen our netwalk locations to be easy to reach for as many Freelance Mums as possible. Being so close to the M32, M4 and M5, our groups also attract members from across the Southwest, making Bristol one of our strongest Freelance Mum networking communities.

Our Bristol Hubs

The Freelance Mum Ashton Court Hub do their netwalk in the beautiful setting of Ashton Court Estate. There are easy paths to follow and plenty of open space and woodland to enjoy. Ashton Court is a 10-minute walk from the city centre, or there is parking on-site.

Our North Bristol Hub meet at The Gloucester Old Spot and do their netwalk in the quiet surroundings of the residential area. There is a lovely, safe area for children to play outside in The Gloucester Old Spot afterwards. Or members can sit inside around the large tables and enjoy working through a business focused activity together.

We have more Bristol Hubs in the pipeline! Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to find out when they launch.

Bring your children along (or not)

Whether your children are with you (babies, pre-schoolers and older children are all welcome), or you’ve got some time when your children are elsewhere, Freelance Mum netwalks allow you to get on with networking in person in a relaxed, outdoor environment. We walk at the pace of the slowest member, routes are buggy-friendly, and we all help each other out.

We welcome mums at the beginning of their freelance journey (even if their business is just a germ of an idea) to come along, talk through their thoughts, and connect with like-minded mums in business who get the juggle.

Genuine, valuable connections that last

Nurturing trust and genuine connections takes more than words. Those non-verbal interactions—a reassuring smile, a hand with your buggy, or holding the baby so you can have a coffee—are the building blocks of lasting relationships.

Freelance Mum is about more than finding new business. It’s a safe space to give and get support, offload, feel a sense of belonging and raise each other up.
